Abstract:
The talk will shortly cover the basics of Wireless Mesh Networks (WMN) and illustrate a deployment strategy in a student dormitory (Kellnerweg). The talk will delve into the advantages and problems of such a deployment. Furthermore, it will outline the Kellnerweg-network's potential usage as a local "testing environment" to help investigate existing problems. The talk is scheduled for approx. 30min and will be followed by an extended open discussion.
Biography:
Axel Neumann received his Dipl.-Ing. degree in Electrical Engineering from Technical University Berlin and has been involved in a couple of projects on wireless mesh networks. He is a key designer and implementer of the B.A.T.M.A.N.(BETTER
APPROACH TO MOBILE ADHOC NETWORKING) protocol.
